Walmart introduced its current logo and refreshed visual identity on January 13, 2025, marking the brand’s first major update since 2008. The familiar Walmart name and yellow spark remain, but the wordmark is heavier and more distinctive, accompanied by a deeper True Blue and brighter Spark Yellow color palette.

The refresh was developed by Walmart Creative Studio in collaboration with design agency Jones Knowles Ritchie. The new wordmark draws inspiration from lettering seen on a classic trucker hat worn by founder Sam Walton and was translated into a modern custom typeface, connecting the new identity with Walmart’s earlier history rather than replacing it with an entirely new visual direction.

The six-part spark symbol was originally introduced in 2008 and remains central to the 2025 identity. Walmart describes it as a symbol of the brand’s energy and a visual beacon for customers, while the latest redesign gives it a more prominent role across stores, packaging, digital products and advertising.
