The Twitch wordmark uses bold, block-like lettering inspired by retro gaming graphics. Twitch introduced the current design in 2019 as part of a major brand refresh created with COLLINS and its in-house design team. The new lettering kept the character of the previous logo while making the shapes stronger and easier to use across digital platforms.

The 2019 identity also introduced a brighter Twitch Purple and refreshed the separate Glitch icon. In addition, Twitch adopted Roobert as its main typeface. However, the Twitch wordmark itself uses custom lettering rather than simply typing the company name in Roobert.

In 2024, Twitch worked with PORTO ROCHA on another evolution of its visual identity. The project expanded the color palette, typography, motion and layout system while keeping the established Twitch wordmark. As a result, the 2019 wordmark remains the core text logo used by Twitch in 2026.

Twitch launched on June 6, 2011 as a gaming-focused service that grew out of Justin.tv. The earlier platform had been created by Justin Kan, Emmett Shear, Michael Seibel and Kyle Vogt. Twitch quickly became the stronger brand, and the company renamed its corporate parent Twitch Interactive in 2014. Amazon acquired Twitch later that year for approximately $970 million.
