The Siemens logo is a bold uppercase wordmark recognized by its distinctive turquoise color and clean sans-serif letterforms. The current form was introduced in 1991, refining an earlier Siemens wordmark into the simple corporate identity that continues to represent the company today across industrial technology, infrastructure, mobility and digital products.

Siemens historically used a more complex identity built around the initials “S” and “H,” referring to Siemens & Halske. The S&H monogram first appeared in the nineteenth century and remained part of the company’s visual identity for decades. When Siemens AG was formed in 1966, the company began consolidating its different businesses under a unified corporate identity combining the Siemens name with the historic monogram before eventually moving toward the standalone wordmark.

Werner von Siemens and precision mechanic Johann Georg Halske founded Telegraphen-Bauanstalt von Siemens & Halske in Berlin in 1847. The company began as a ten-person workshop built around Werner von Siemens’ pointer telegraph and quickly expanded into major electrical engineering projects. In 1848 it received an order for a long-distance telegraph line between Berlin and Frankfurt, helping establish the company that would later grow into Siemens AG.

The turquoise Siemens wordmark has now remained essentially unchanged for more than three decades. Its longevity reflects the company’s move away from historical monograms and decorative emblems toward a single name-based identity that can be applied consistently across a particularly broad range of technologies and businesses.
