Myntra was founded in Bangalore in 2007 by Mukesh Bansal, Ashutosh Lawania, and Vineet Saxena, originally as a platform for personalizing gifts like mugs and t-shirts. In 2010, the company shifted its focus entirely to online fashion and accessories, riding the early wave of Indian e-commerce growth. Myntra was acquired by Flipkart in 2014, and in 2018, Walmart acquired a 77% stake in Flipkart as part of its push into the Indian retail market.

The brand’s identity has changed several times. The original 2007 logo was a bright green badge crowded with six small icons — a bag, cap, t-shirt, and more — each carrying a letter of the “Myntra” name. A 2011 redesign replaced this with a more stylized wordmark, built from overlapping semi-transparent letterforms in shades of pink and orange. In 2015, the company introduced the emblem still in use today: an abstract “M” formed from four smooth, overlapping elements in pink and orange, paired with a black wordmark in a clean sans-serif typeface. A 2021 refinement intensified the colors, removed the overlapping transparency effect, and added darker outlines to the peaks of the “M” for a bolder, more polished finish.

The wordmark’s typeface is Whitney, designed by Tobias Frere-Jones in 1996 and further developed with Jonathan Hoefler starting in 2000. Whitney was originally commissioned for New York’s Whitney Museum of American Art, built as a humanist sans-serif that could work equally well in dense catalog text and large-scale gallery signage. Its compact, open letterforms give the Myntra wordmark a clean, confident character that holds up clearly at both small app-icon sizes and large storefront signage. The color palette of pink and orange is intended to evoke energy, creativity, and variety, while the black lettering adds a sense of confidence and professionalism to the overall mark.
Each format (EPS, SVG) can be downloaded individually depending on your design software, and the transparent PNG is ready for quick use in documents, presentations, and mockups.
