Mercedes-Benz Wordmark Download (EPS, SVG, PNG)
Download the Mercedes-Benz wordmark in EPS, SVG, and PNG formats for free — each file available as a separate download. This is the standalone “Mercedes-Benz” logotype used alongside (and independently of) the three-pointed star, across the brand’s vehicles, dealerships, and communications.
The Mercedes name predates the star itself. It was registered as a trademark in 1902, borrowed from the nickname of Mercedes Jellinek — daughter of Emil Jellinek, the Austrian diplomat and racing enthusiast who commissioned Daimler’s early cars and raced them under his daughter’s name. The earliest wordmark was a curious piece of lettering: an oval badge in which the letters swelled in size toward the center of the word and tapered at the ends. The familiar pairing of wordmark and star arrived after 1926, when rivals Daimler-Motoren-Gesellschaft and Benz & Cie. merged, combining Daimler’s three-pointed star with Benz’s laurel wreath and setting both company names into the ring.

The modern wordmark is set in Corporate A, the proprietary serif typeface designed for Daimler’s corporate identity — a refined, high-contrast design with thin hairline strokes and small flared serifs that reads as quietly traditional next to the star’s strict geometry. That serif-against-geometry pairing is deliberate: the star carries the engineering, the lettering carries the heritage. Over the decades the wordmark has been progressively thinned and simplified, with the current version — softened in color and rebalanced in weight around 2011 — typically appearing in black or silver-gray beneath or beside the emblem, and increasingly omitted altogether in digital contexts where the star stands alone.
Each format (EPS, SVG) can be downloaded individually depending on your design software, and the transparent PNG is ready for quick use in documents, presentations, and mockups. The logo is available as a separate download.
