Mercedes-Benz Logo Download (EPS, SVG, PNG)
Download the Mercedes-Benz logo in EPS, SVG, and PNG formats for free — each file available as a separate download. This is the three-pointed star in its ring, one of the oldest continuously used logos in the world and arguably the most recognizable mark in the automotive industry.
The star began as a private family symbol. Gottlieb Daimler used to mark his home on postcards to his wife with a star, reportedly writing that one day it would shine over his own factory. After his death, his sons Paul and Adolf proposed the symbol to the Daimler-Motoren-Gesellschaft board, and in 1909 the three-pointed star was registered as a trademark. The three points were given a meaning that doubled as a business plan: Daimler’s ambition to motorize transport on land, on water, and in the air — all three of which the company genuinely built engines for at the time.
The star in its current enclosed form dates to 1926, when Daimler merged with rival Benz & Cie. and the new company fused Daimler’s star with the laurel wreath from Benz’s badge, later simplified into the clean ring used today. The design has been progressively stripped down ever since — the wreath disappeared, the company names left the ring, and by 1989 the standalone star in a circle was carrying the brand on its own. The silver-gray color carries its own history, tracing back to the legendary “Silver Arrows” racing cars of the 1930s, whose paint was famously stripped to bare metal. Today’s version, refined in 2011, renders the star in a sleek metallic finish for physical badges and a flat monochrome for digital use.
Each format (EPS, SVG) can be downloaded individually depending on your design software, and the transparent PNG is ready for quick use in documents, presentations, and mockups. If you need the “Mercedes-Benz” lettering as well, the wordmark is available as a separate download.
Mercedes-Benz and the three-pointed star are trademarks of Mercedes-Benz Group AG. This file is provided for editorial, fan, and design-reference use.
The three points represent Daimler’s founding ambition to power transport on land, sea, and air — a literal description of the engine business at the time, not just symbolism.
The silver association comes from the 1930s “Silver Arrows” era, when Mercedes Grand Prix cars ran in bare polished metal. The color became inseparable from the brand and carried into its badge and identity.
