Futura’s identity comes from reduction. Circles, straight strokes and tightly controlled proportions do most of the work, giving the typeface its unmistakable modernist feel.

Futura PT vs Futura Std

Futura PT and Futura Std are different digital versions of the original Futura typeface. They share the same geometric foundation, but they come from different font libraries and should not be treated as identical files.

Futura PT is the ParaType version, with an expanded family system and broader language support, including Cyrillic. Futura Std is the Adobe/Linotype-style standard OpenType package and may have different metrics, glyph coverage and spacing.
