The booking.com logo is a clean wordmark built around the company’s name and its distinctive blue color. Rather than relying on a separate pictorial symbol, the brand turns the Booking.com name itself into the primary identifier, an approach particularly suited to a company whose web address and brand name are the same.
The current logotype was created during a corporate identity redesign led by Booking.com visual designer German Kopytkov in 2012. The redesign simplified the earlier identity into a cleaner, flatter wordmark with softer letterforms and a more consistent blue treatment. The basic design introduced during this project remains the foundation of the Booking.com logo today.
Booking.com’s roots go back to 1996, when Geert-Jan Bruinsma launched Bookings.nl in the Netherlands after recognizing the potential of the newly emerging internet for hotel reservations. What began as a small online accommodation service later became part of the business that developed into Booking.com, with Amsterdam serving as its global headquarters.
The Priceline Group acquired the business in 2005 and combined it with European reservation company Active Hotels, creating the Booking.com operation that expanded internationally from 2006 onward. Today, Booking.com is part of Booking Holdings and has grown far beyond hotel reservations to connect travelers with accommodation, transport and other travel services around the world.
